Abstract

This experience story seek stoconvey the approach taken by a primary school in the face of the unfore seen death of a pre-adolescent senior student. The question “what do we do with this?” It operated as guidanceto ritualize the transit in Frida’s absence. at school. It was the school scenario that demanded, through the a fore mentioned question, a way to treat this unexpected death. It is written about the potential that rituals have through the possibilities of invention that art offers at school. Productions that went beyond the limits of the private school to the public as an attempt to symbolize Frida’s absence in the community. The systematization of the experience contributes to narrating how the school provides cultural objects that, by putting them into circulation/sublimation, allow suffering to be collectivized and at the same time to subjectify death. The writing of this story is nourished by the great themes of humanity: sexuality and death and in general, they are not addressed in teacher training.
