Teachers of Physical Education and their teacher knowledge: the management of the content of teaching in issue

This is a report of the findings of a doctoral research that had as the central object of study to analyze the teachers knowledge related to the set of operations that the master launches hand to lead the students to learn the content of Physical Education (PE). We have dealt with the issue under angle of objectives, content and activities of learning, teaching strategies and planning of variables related to the educational environment in which the teachers surveyed were inserted. For this reason, we take into account the nature of school discipline instructed (PE), the physical environments where the teaching of the PE develops, the didactic material proper to him, the teaching objectives specific to be achieved and the type of interaction between students, between students and teachers. For this reason, we conducted a qualitative research in a vocational school for middle level and involved three professors experienced in teaching of this discipline in the school (two men and a woman), directors, specialists (educators, psychologists, social worker, doctor) and students of the middle school professional. To make a thick description of the work of teachers and the relationship of teachers’ work with the dynamic educational sites, was made use of various techniques of data collection: observation of daily school, interviews and documentary analysis.
